BUCKEYE, AZ - A strong community partnership can make a lasting difference in a classroomβ€”and recently, Buckeye Union High School Theatre experienced that support firsthand.

As the presenting sponsor of the 2027 Teacher of the Year program, Desert Financial Credit Union has launched its Year of Service, a school year dedicated to hands-on service and support at the schools of its 2027 Ambassadors for Excellence.

One of those honorees is our very own Michael Haslanger, Theatre Teacher at Buckeye Union High School, who welcomed the Desert Financial team to campus for the program’s first day of service.

The team began by supporting Michael’s classroom wish list, providing classroom supplies, furniture and breakfast to help meet the needs of his theatre program. But the day was about more than delivering suppliesβ€”it was about rolling up their sleeves and getting to work alongside educators and students.
