BUHS Gymnasium

 As the start of a new school year approaches, we are looking forward to a great 2022-2023 school year! Because you may have questions about the start of the school year, the following information is provided for your assistance. Please pay special attention to the designated dates assigned to each grade level, and please be aware that students are required to go through each of these steps to obtain class schedules and pay all necessary fees.

 

STUDENT SCHEDULE DATES

Back to School Days will occur in the main gym. We are requesting all students and parents begin “The Back to School Days” process by parking in the gym parking lot.  Please go through the bus gate and enter the east side gym door and head straight down the hall to enter the gym. We will have guides to help you.   

         

Friday, July 22

12th Graders - 8:00-12:00pm

Monday, July 25

11th Graders - 8:00-12:00pm

Tuesday, July 26         

10th Graders8:00-12:00pm

Wednesday, July 27             

 9th Graders8:00-12:00pm

Thursday, July 28       

Make up for 9,10,11,12 graders 

4:00-8:00pm (Evening Session)

 

STEP #1 CLASS SCHEDULES

Pick up a copy of your class schedule. It is possible that you have been placed in an alternate class due to the following reasons:

  • Student did not meet prerequisite
  • Course availability restrictions- Class sizes must be balanced
  • Seniors get first pick of course selections and class seats were filled
  • Conflicts in the student’s schedule

Please keep in mind when picking up your schedule that it is the responsibility of the student to notify Assistant Principal, Mr. Kinney or Mr. Seward, of class schedule mistakes or provide summer school transcript grades to update your schedule.

Schedule changes will be made for the following reasons ONLY:

  • Missing period in schedule
  • Tested into honor course
  • lacking prerequisite
  • Course needed for graduation
  • Missing a lunch period
  • Attended summer school

Please note that the Counselors are not able to make teacher changes, they are available to make changes for the reasons noted above ONLY. Counselors will notify students if a schedule change was granted or denied.

  • All students must pick up an official blue copy of their schedule in the East Quad on the morning of Wednesday, August 3rd.The blue copy will be considered the official schedule (The 1st day of school)

 

STEP #2 CHECK STATION

PARENT/GUARDIAN SIGNATURES ON REQUIRED FORMS

 

ENROLLMENT FORMS:  A parent or guardian signature is required on all forms: Student Profile Page, McKinney Vento, and the Attendance and Handbook Acknowledge Form must be signed.

   

PARKING: Please note that parking on school campus is a privilege, and all students that do not honor school rules and regulations will have permits revoked. The “Back to School Days” process for parking permits is as follows:

  • Complete parking application and pay required fees.
  • Student must provide a copy of current Drivers License
  • Seniors have first priority when being assigned a parking permit.
  • Any remaining parking permits will be assigned to juniors, sophomores on a first come basis.

SENIOR FORMS ONLY:  The schedule change request form must be approved by the Counselor, Administrator and Parent/Guardian for a student to have an early release.  Every student must complete 260 minutes of daily instruction.  Only senior students on track to graduate are eligible for a reduced schedule.

  • Schedule Change Request Form completed and turned into site administrator in gym.

     

     STEP #3 FEES & PAYMENT

    All necessary fees must be paid prior to the first day of school.  Cash, Check, Debit or Credit Cards are acceptable methods of payment for fees. 

    Fees: (Please be aware that all fees are non-refundable)

  • Student ID $5
  • Laptop $50
  • Class Electives- Based on Course selection
  • Athletic Fees- $100 Request further info from Bookstore Admin Assistant, Kellie Haworth
  • Parking Fee- $50

 

STEP #4 LAPTOP PICK-UP, BUS ROUTES & CAFETERIA MEALS

 

After paying fees, you will head to BUHS cafeteria to get your laptop. If you have transportation questions or free and reduced lunch questions, school representatives will be in the cafeteria to answer questions.

If you are needing to enroll a new student, please come during summer office hours Monday-Thursday 8am-3pm or you can email BUHS Registrar, Sarah Maier ( [email protected]), to set up an appointment.

  • The School Registrar and Counselors will be located in the BUHS library
